After four weeks of predictions we are running at a 62.50% level. Hopefully we can improve this weekend! There were two surprising results this weekend with Sputnik getting their first points on the board with an away win at Energetyk and FC Minsk going so close against BATE - The home side were 2-0 up to the 82nd minute when a hotly disputed goal was scored where Pavel Ryback appeared to handle the ball. BATE scored the equaliser from the penalty spot in the 92nd minute.
SHOTS ON TARGET OVER FOUR GAMES
WEEK FIVE FIXTURES
FRIDAY
Sputnik Rechitsa v Isloch
A very tough game to predict. Sputnik got their first three points with Nicaraguan International Ariangner Smith scoring their goal last weekend. Isloch have now won two and lost two - they played their worst game so far against Rukh in the 0-1 defeat last weekend. If Sputnik have any chance of staying up this season this is the sort of game they will be looking to win. Isloch are bottom of the shots on target league with just 11 on target over four games. DRAW possibly 0-0 or 1-1
Vitebsk v Slutsk
Slutsk were excellent in their game against Torpedo looking very good going forward. Hover the big blue bus of Vitebsk will be a different prospect especially on their home ground. They will grind out a HOME WIN.
SATURDAY
Torpedo Zhodino v Dynamo Brest
Torpedo were expected to be right up the top of the league this season with the vistors completely new team expected to be lower mid-table. This hasn't been the case and DB have surprised many pundits with their performances. This game will end all square - DRAW.
Neman Grodno v FC Minsk
The away side were very unlucky not to pick up all three points against BATE and have been a real defensively organised side mostly so far. Neman have struggled to click in front of goal with just one goal scored. This could go either way but I'm going to for Neman to pick up their first win of the season. HOME WIN.
BATE v Energetik-BGU
The Students done the double over BATE last season. However, both teams have much changed sides this campaign. The visitors tend to play well against the bigger sides and never turn up in run of the mill league fixtures with last weekend's defeat against Sputnik a good example. Both teams will score but BATE will win. HOME WIN.
Shakhtyor Soligorsk v Slavia Mozyr
As the saying goes 'football is a funny old game' as Shakhtyor with 4 wins and 10 goals scored so far host struggling Slavia who have just 1 draw and 3 defeats in 4 games. The home side had too much for Smorgon last weekend and there will be another three points for them in this game. HOME WIN.
SUNDAY
Dynamo Minsk v FC Gomel
FC Gomel have looked very impressive so far and travel to a Dynamo Minsk team still playing not to lose and not as many fans want to go out and win games. This again could be their downfall in this game against a side who have 26 shots on target so far. This makes an average of 6.5 per game which is likely to be less against a cautious ultra-defensive home side. DRAW
Rukh Brest v Smorgon
On paper this should be an easy home win for Rukh's talent packed side who have flattered to deceive in all of their games so far. It's only a matter of time I think before Rukh really click and start scoring more goals - HOME WIN. I predict a 3-0 score-line.
