It's been a frustrating start to the Isthmian League South-Central Division campaign for Merstham who were relegated from the Premier Division at the end of last season after they finished bottom of the table.

The Moatsiders are currently bottom of the table on three draws and five defeats from eight games played under the new management of former Carshalton Athletic player/manager Peter Adenyi who replaced Frank Wilson who departed the club over the summer along with his Assistant Barry Hayles.

They have a very interesting game on Saturday as they welcome Leatherhead who were also relegated last season and who are currently in eighteenth place in the table with just one win in eight games.

The Tanners recently appointed former Merstham boss Hayden Bird after Luke Tuffs departed the club. Bird won promotion to the Premier Division and also reached the First Round Proper of the FA Cup whilst with the club. He has most recently been in charge of Kingstonian.

Leatherhead lost 2-3 at home to Chipstead in Bird's first game in charge on Saturday - their starting XI featured new signing's defender Rob McGowan, attacking midfielder Trey Williams and striker Reise Allassani.

They also included Defender Ben Frempah who started the season in the Vanarama South Division with Cheshunt before moving to Leatherhead in mid-September.
